Been lurking here for a while and you guys have always had some awesome advice, but I recently signed up so that I could get a little bit more "individualized" assistance.

Can you help me ID the engine on my Snapper?

I need to order a carbarator, and I want to make sure I get the right one. I'm pretty handy, so the repair isn't a problem once I get the right parts... but, I guess I'm missing the metal plates that had my model number on my engine.

I have attached some photos to help with the identification.

I entered the 1st 5 in your model into snappers support website and came up with the following link to a manual. This appears to be your mower. May be slightly newer, but I can't be for sure.

It's an M series.

not sure maybe stamped on the metal plate over the muffler

That is just a regular carb for many engines. The kit # is 498260

Why do you need a new carb ? a kit is only 10 bux Hope this helps
