Ok I have a B&S 28 hp model# 49m777 0110 G1
I changed the sump gasket in Oct 2019 and ran it once and put it away for winter. Ran it the first time this yr and it wouldn't idle down. If it's cold It will throttle up and down but once it warms up it stays at high idle and I have to idle down by the carb linkage. I just replaced the gov spring and gov idle spring and it still does it. Before I open the motor back to check the Gov is there any suggestions. I did reset the gov already. Thanks in advance

Intake air leaking allowing bypass air when the engine is hot warping the manifold.

AS IL suggests check the intake, especially the o-rings.
Also this engine uses a governed idle speed. Base Idle speed must be set at 1200 rpm and governed idle set at 1750 rpm. IF the base idle is not set at 1200 rpms the engine will not return to idle once warmed up. Many times the the Base idle speed is missed on tune ups.
