I recently bought a John Deere 111 with an 11 hp motor in it. The mower will start and continue to run with no problem. But when I move the throttle to high it sounds like it's either not getting enough fuel or getting too much full because it is not running smoothly. I tried to adjust the carb but no luck. Can anyone give me advice?

If you take off air filter(temporarily), any change?

Old gas, bad gas, contaminated gas, clogged fuel filter...

Just start with a basic tune up fresh fuel, new filters and spark plug. From there if it still runs bad you might want to clean the carburetor.
