My D170 John Deer Tractor will start only if you spray into the motor. Whats up

I have a nice John Deer Tractor D 170 will not start unless I spray into the motor, what is the problem?

The carburetor needs a good cleaning.

Greg does it start and stay running ???? If it does can you start it back up after a few minutes of not running, Such as shut down the engine to move a trampoline and other stuff out of the way ?????
