mulching with 42" John Deere x304

Just bought a new x304 2012 model w/ 42" deck . Mowed 1x and cuts good but grass is all over sidewalks and driveway. Can't bag it, have no space for bagger kit in shed.Thinking about a mulch kit. Anyone used a kit from Deere, any issues like clogs or clumps. I mow at 3", 1x per week in Michigan.

They work great as long as you are not mowing wet grass or too tall. You need to take off only a half inch at a time or so, which means more mowing when it is cool and wet.

A simple test. If there is any shine on your front tires from dew or water for any reason then it is to wet to mulch period. Your deck will stay cloged up. So watch the front tires.
