anyone repair an mtd single speed transaxle ? Haven't found the grease yet. Thanks. Need grease!

I am sure there is a substitute for the grease but MTD uses a proprietary grease, and very little information available for weight and blend.

It probably calls for Bentonite grease.it is a clay based grease vs a standard soap (lithium) based grease. Much more resistant to water and is non hardening. Peerless is the most common brand you will see but i think Chemtool makes it for all the labels. Google "bentonite grease" and you can find a vendor.

From what research I can find it is a benalene 920 grease. something around a 0 thickness.

What I use here is "00" grease

Whatever grease you choose to use just be sure to clean all the old lubricant out. Clay based grease is not compatible with soap based grease.
