I am looking for the brake for a 13AM762G752 mower. I ordered this part: https://amzn.to/3ms9bI1 but it doesn't fit my mower. in order for it to fit the brake pad would need to be in the top set of holes, not the bottom. i can't find the version of this with the brake pad in the top holes.

here's the parts list: https://www.jackssmallengines.com/j...models/13am762g752-2006/deck-assembly-42-inch

Parts Tree shows the PN as 683-04167 , but the last 5 digits are the same, Since it's made by MTD, there is a MTD part that starts with a different prefix, then the Yardman part with another prefix.
Even the one at parts tree shows it in the bottom set of holes... does it match up with your old part dimensionally besides the pad?

You need to drill out the rivets and relocation the brake pad. I have doing it for years here.

As the part number here is the all the part number are superseded.

Same as Star, well sort of
I have a long length of external brake band used for tractors with external band brakes.
Cut a length off drill 2 holes whack a bit of Sikaflex ( silicon glue ) between the two parts and pop rivet .
You can buy brake pad lining material in sheets
On manual PTO mowers it is important that the right brake works so you get enough slack in the belt for it to slip when you dissengage the blades
The left does not really matter unless you have a habit of shoving your fingers under the deck.
