I have a Craftman professional 2011 model no. 247-28980.

Problem - won't crank.

While cutting grass mower quit running it seamed like the seat switch cut it off. I removed the switch. I tried to jump the switch not sure I did it right. When I omen it out with the switch with the button out I get a reading on all ports. If I push the button in I don't get a reading on one of the ports the other three read. Does this mean the switch is bad or good?

Question

If the switch is bad how can I go around it?
If the switch is good what should I look for?

To test the switch un-plug it and try to start if it runs with out the switch hooked up that means the switch is bad make sure u replace it if that's the case never use your mower with out all the safety s hooked up......As stated above check fuses, grounds all connections from the battery to the starter clean them also ....let know how u made out

I'm still trying to find the problem. I checked the connections unpluggeded & pluggeded some & jiggled the others. I found the interlock switc unplugged it. I also have the seat swith unplugged no jumpers on ether one. The only place I know I have power is at the starter relay. If I jump the starter relay it will crank,did not try to see if it would start. I know that I have to have a fuse some ware but I keep over looking it. I assume it should be around the starter relay or the key switch.

Can I unplug items to bypass & rule them out?

Any suggestions on what I can do to isolate the problem?

Can I run a hot wire from the battery to a certain location, to try to find the problem ?

I found the fuse & it is blown & of course I don't have one.

Question

Do I have a problem that blew the fuse? Or did it blow for hell of it?

Lots of times ( it happened to my grass handler) rust will mess up the seat switch which is a ground switch, just the smallest amount of rust will do it

I don't like to brag but I hooked up a battery backwards once and it blew a fuse,hopefully that wasn't your issue,lol

I replaced the fuse so far it's holding. I'm still in the stage that evertime it act's like it wants to die,my a hole draws up. Thanks
