Mower decks......almost new vs older...

Is there a different from a mower deck from a John Deere LX 188 from 1995 and to the mower deck from the John Deere LTR 180 from 2004...I know the mower deck from the LX 188 is very heavy, it almost bullitsprof in my eyes....the mower deck from the LTR 188 from 2004 looks cheaper but is still expensive.....
What is your thoughts about that?
 
Best bet may be to ask a JD dealer if they will interchange.
With enough time and money nearly anything is possible just depends on how bad you want to do this.
Maybe someone on this site has already done this and will chime in.
 
Generally a heavier deck is going to be a better deck, but how the air flows under the deck will vary from one to the other... :smile:KennyV
