I have an older tiger cat, 452 hours on it. Sadly the motor blew, just 6 cuttings after buying it. I feel the motor was on its way out as it never showed any issues. Yes oil was where it should have been becuase I was check and the air filter was brand before using it today. My questions are can you put the larger Kawasaki FX730 or is it best to stay with the Kawasaki fs651v?

If it fits in the space available, has same shaft diameter, length, and fittings, then put whatever you have handy on the mower.

I keep thinking I'd like to mount a Harley-Davidson engine on mower. Tractor-style vertical exhausts...

651-691- 730 are all the same block. as long as you have room for the air filter it will work and as long as the crank shaft is the same. 751-801- 850 are the same block 921-1000 are the same block. I have change several of the 651s over to the 730 engine. Like I said it is the same block. I would go with the FX730. Post the spec.. no and I can give the model and speck no you need.
