I have a 61" deck mid-mount mower that appears to have som garbage in the fuel tank. Fuel cap was left off during a 2 hour mowing session.
How can I remove and empty the fuel tank out?

Looks good but what about the clippings or bits that are in the tank? Won't they just settle to the bottom?

Definately yes.
So empty the tank remove the fuel line remove the fuel cap and blow backwards up the tank toll you blow all of the crud out.
OTherwise it is a case of removing the tank washing & drying.

Blow backwards through the fuel line fitting so the debris come out the filler neck?

You got it.
If there is space you can also try a very long air duster.
I got a few here that are 2' to 4' long.
They can be shoved down the filler neck and also used to blow the crud out.

The long dusters are magic and worthwile for cleaning the mower without having a dust bath & cleaning the deck without eating grass.
