Hey everyone,
I figured someone can help before I continue to throw parts at the mower. It would not start. So I tested the solenoid and have power at the yellow wire when I turn the key. I ordered a factory solenoid and replaced it. (Could jump the posts to get it to turn over) However, either I got a bad solenoid out of the bag or another problem. I assume it can be the key tumbler (though I get a test light when I turn the key at the solenoid) The brake switch, seat switch and or PTO switch. Before I start buying part after part was wondering if someone has a way of finding which is the bad component? Any advice in trouble shooting this would be appreciated. Thinking maybe I should bypass the seat and brake switch? Thanks in advance,
Chris

Post year, model & serial numbers as well as all numbers from engine & engine manufacturer. You're absolutely correct, stop changing parts out. If your tractor has B&S engine, you may need to adjust valves per manual specs. If valves are too loose, compression release on camshaft will not work, creating no start problem.

Advice, do not bypass safety switches.
