my dad has a toro model 74201 cutting deck model 74208 62 inch cut.. when he engages the cutting deck it makes a loud noise like something is hitting the deck.. then quiets down some as you increase throttle .. took a quick look blades are not hitting deck .. any ideas???
Inspect the deck drive belts. Chunks missing from the belt will cause clattering due to the tension idler pulley waving like a flag every time the narrow belt spot goes around a pulley.
