Engine loseing power

john deer 210 about 40 years old this year it started to lose power after ten to fifteen min. put new plug in check points oil is good it just seems to get to hot after it cools down runs good for the same time then govener gose down

Replace both points and condensor first, then coil and wires, if that doesn't fix then it is time to do a compression test both dry/wet.

While points and condensors are tune up items ahich should be replaced periodically, I really like to check things before I start replacing parts.
You can get exactly the same symptions from a plug of crud stuck in the bottom of the fuel line or a blocked tank breather.
First step is to do some easy diagnostics and the easiest one is to pop an in line tester on the spark plug.
If the tester stops flashing before the engine stops do as per suggested by Grubby
