I'm trying to find info about a Lawn Boy mower my father used to have....as I recall may
have been purchased mid-late 1960's.
I remember it was yellow..... like what I see referred to as 'buttercup'
magnesium deck
grass catcher bag with the removable panel on the deck
bricktop engine
I saw two mowers recently on ebay that look similar, buttercup color , but without the bricktop engine and removable
catcher panel.
Anyone have a picture or link with more info about this particular model.
Would like to find out the model number, engine type, year built, etc...thanks

I can't help with the photo but I do have a question: where were you living when your dad bought the Lawn-Boy?
The reason I ask is that I think that Lawn-Boys may not have been sold in parts of the South before the early 1970s. I've been a LB hobbyist for a little over four years now and I have NEVER seen one made before 1974 in my area (Atlanta/ NE Alabama). North Carolina may be different.
If anyone else can shed light on this question I'd appreciate it. :confused2:
We moved to NC in 1970, and the mower came with us
I think the combination of the yellow deck with the bricktop engine may have been less common.
I found several of the yellow Lawn Boy's with the older (non-bricktop) engine type and the cylindrical gas tank
on ebay recently. But have not seen any of the type my Dad had.
