Hi I have bought a lawnflite 404 which when I put it in forward or reverse it moves without any throttle, when throttle is applied it moves quicker as it should, could anyone help if there’s anything to adjust please?

My first thought is the cable is adjusted wrong, at or near the carburetor.
It looks like you have a Briggs engine (Model number will help a lot of the machine and engine).
There is a pinch style clamp the holds the throttle cable near the carb.

Hi thanks for your relply, I have uploaded some pictures of numbers from under the seat and a black plate above the exhaust there is no throttle cable adjustment. On the carb there is a orange adjuster you can move to either of 2 positions as in The pictures. From the throttle pedal there is just a metal rod that goes to the belt to add tension, is there some sort of clutch on these? Thanks for your help

That orange lever looks like the for the choke, not the adjustment for the throttle cable.

The choke is the white one next to it connected to a cable that comes out under the seat
