I see why now everyone says to just buy a new one already on the axle.I spent two hours removing cleaning repacking replacing only to find the trans will roll back fine now but locks up rolling forward .the grease in mine was hardened up and I think when I cleaned it I took what little bit of grease there was on the thrust washers off and now it is sticking.I am going to take it down again to see just what is going on but got a used trans coming that is in good condition.do they even sell rebuild kits for them?looks fun to do if you like c and e clips.should I have used spray grease on the clutch washers and then packed it with grease?there were no metal shavings in the case and the pinion gear was just a little loose but not enough to cause any problems. The grease was shot .has anyone had any sucess working on one of them?
