Hello Everyone I have a lawn boy model 10682 and for some reason it stopped while I was mowing yesterday. I didn't hit anything but when it stopped I thought maybe it needed gas. which it did but when I tried to start again a little smoke and this sound you will hear in the video was the result. I am not sure what's going on...? thanks
I posted a video on you tube to see if I could get any help..I am glad I found this forum thank you here is a link to the video https://youtu.be/qr5n6InKeu8
Something is definitly loose. First, check to see if you have a loose blade. If it is loose you need to tighten it and then check for a sheared flywheel key.

I'm going to move your thread over to our Lawn Boy section.
I'm not a 4 cycle guru, but it sounds like maybe the rod bearing is bad, or possibly the rod broke. Remove the spark plug and stick a straw in the hole to see if the piston is moving back and forth. Did it make any unusual noise prior to it quitting?

Watch your video and look in the lower left side on the engine next to the carb. I see something moving. Im betting a rod through the block.

thank you all for the help im looking into what you mean about the Rod. I have only fixed a belt on this mower so I will look for info on this Rod you guys are talking about and see if its hard to replace...Is it hard to replace? thanks again
If you "threw a rod", then it went thru the crankcase, busting it. Essentially this makes the engine junk. You can look for a salvage engine. You have many good parts (except for the engine block) to use from your existing unit.
