I've been doing two fertilizer applications per season - one early in the spring, and one mid summer.
I have a lawn spreader I purchased new that I use to apply. I also use it to spread insect killer twice a year and grass seed from time to time.
So back to the fertilizer.... every time I apply it, I get stripes. What is up with that?
The spreader doesn't look damaged in any way. It looks like it's spreading the granules out evenly in front of the machine. Yet I end up with pretty narrow, very well defined stripes. It's as off the machine is spreading very little and mostly just 'leaking' the fertilizer straight down from the machine. But it does not appear that this is actually what it's doing. I'm not sure what to make if this. Any ideas?
