Need help with obtaining a repair manual for a 1971 Lawn Boy. The model I have is a Lawn Boy with International Harvester name on it.
Had contacted Lawn Boy & IH and they could not help me.
I have the original "Operator's Manual" but it does not give me any spec for the settings the carburetor float bowl or much of anything else other then the basics. HELP!!!
It runs great, still using it regularly, but it's a dog to start at times.
If I could maybe obtain the Lawn Boy cross reference model# that may help me with finding the information I need?!??!

The International Harvester information...
Model # 3311
Serial # 0330011u009511
19" recoil start, push type, with catcher
Two-cycle with a magnesium frame
Thx!
Joe

Look in your other thread for a link to a manual. You've got a D-series engine and a very cool mower.

By the age of the mower and the hard starting may be caused by leaking air or fuel from the top and bottom crank seals.

I agree with the bad crankcase seals diagnosis. Another thing to check is the points and condenser, being a 71 I'd assume it has points. A bad condenser will also cause intermittent problems.

Standard d600 settings is what will give you all you need to know. Solid state was the d600 and later. As stated I bet the seals are leaking and it needs a carb rebuild with a fresh needle and seat.

THANK YOU!!!

The international harvester thingy is confusing me! It looks like I have some of both 400&600 series features. Would my mower be the the D-600 series because it has the "Solid State ignition"?
My approach is to rebuild the carb but it seems that either one looks similar?!?!?:confused2:

How many threads have you started?

Sounds like you need to just work on the ignition circuit, and you will get another 30 years or so.....

New filter and plug too!!!!!

Don't be intimidated by the fact that it has a International Harvester shroud on it. Its just a Lawnboy, with a point-less solid state coil, late model D engine.
