2005 L110.

Recently had new spindle, blades, pulleys and belts installed by dealer.
They also did a cam and valve adjustment (so I'm told).

Ran fine for a few cuts, now the mower suddenly wont start.

Battery is fully charged, brake fully depressed, same results when parking brake is engaged.
The roll release thing on the back of the mower is pushed in.

I tested the solenoid with a multimeter.
Positive side of solenoid shows 12 v.
Negative side shows .1v

I replaced solenoid.

Still wont start, multimeter shows same results: positive 12v negative: .1v

I'm at a loss with this POS mower.
It's been a hassle since I bought it used a few years ago. Constantly broken.

Any ideas here?

I really don't want to drop another couple hundred bucks having the dealer fix it.

Give us a little more info, what does it do when you say won't start, will engine spin but not fire or does engine not spin at all ?

Also what engine and give us the numbers for it, Briggs will be on top of valve cover and Kohler will be a sticker on side of engine.

It's a Briggs & Stratton Intek V twin 20 hp.
Engine would spin but not fire, yes.

I got the dang thing running though.

I checked the gas tank cap and seemed super tight, so I loosened it up a bit, and it started right up.
Obviously the cap was so tight the vent wasn't letting air in to allow it to pull fuel to the carb.

I'm sure I'll have other issues soon though.
This mower is my problem child.

(and yes, some of this is user error. This is my first riding mower. I'm a first time home owner and didn't have to cut the grass much as a kid)

Our friends at the EPA strike again.
If you put a vent in a fuel tank you have to fit some one way valves and a charcoal canister.
So a lot of mowers vent through the thread on the fuel tank, thus making the mower a greater fire risk and of course allowing fuel to slosh out if you overfill the tank and go up hills.
And don't feel bad.
One of my customers had the same problem .
Her mower would run about 1/2 then stop.
She bought the 5 year extended warrantee so she calls the technician.
He comes out and the mower starts first pop, charges a $ 45 call out fee & drives away.
This happened 3 times and she was getting a bit peeved so on the 4th trip, she took his car keys and made him wait till it stopped.
The tech walks down, loosens the fuel cap, says "read the manual lady"
And I have been servicing the more ever since.
