I’ve got a zg23 that keeps blowing a fuse each time the blades engage. It runs good at start up for a few minutes before blowing. I’m not sure where to start in trying to figure this out. This model has the driveshaft that turns the deck belt. It doesn’t have an electric external clutch. Any help is greatly appreciate.

Do you have a lever to engage the blades or a button ?

1.I would pull and clean the electrical connections. Contact cleaner and compressed air (Deoxit).

2.Inspect for EACH pin, pin fitment being tight inside the connector. Lot of people miss this step.

3.Look for burnt dark plastic connector bodies (high heat). If you see this, that wire/connection is getting hot.

4.If you see a smoked connector just cut the connector off. Solder and shrink wrap away. Or buy a new harness.

5.Once corrected some die electric grease wouldn't hurt.
