Kohler cv15s lifter noise question

wife was mowing and noticed a tick starting I checked it and it seems to be coming from the lifter area. Its not a heavy sound like a rod so I pulled the cover and checked for bent push rods and everything seemed OK not any loose tappets but I couldn't get the lifters out but they didn't seem to be collapsed as they were snug. I flushed motor out and changed oil and filter and run it and it runs fine just seems to tick more than usual, can anyone enlighten me on this? Thank you much Larry

Check 4 engine mount bolts, make sure they're tight.

Lifters have very tiny oil ports which are prone to plugging . Don't know your model, but if accessible I would pull the lifters, soak and try to blow out the oil port (s). Or replace them. Kohler has an excellent cutaway somewhere on line (sorry don't know exactly) which will show you what you are dealing with. Clean oil very important.
