Recently at 150 hours my Cub Cadet LT1045 Kohler 20hp Courage single cyl. went to meet its maker (top cover came loose). I replaced the blown up short block with a new unit and even though the engine runs fine it smokes on start up for about 3 to 4 minutes. after that there are no issues. When I replaced the short block I inspected the head and it appeared ok, I did not see any valve stem seals, should there be any on this engine?

Export threadA light blue smoke would indicate oil, please post model and spec numbers. I suspect that the rings may not be seated properly, but it could be a couple different things. Need to look at engine before offering suggestions.
