Kohler Courage 20 - Leaking oil on the back side of the top head bolt

Hello All!

This is a new one to me, I have a Kohler Courage 20 - SV600-0009 that i just got done cleaning all the oil off of, and tightening the 4 sump cover bolts that are normally the cause of the oil leaks. While doing a test run to confirm that it is no longer leaking, I noticed that the upper head bolt was leaking from the backside where it comes back out of the engine. I tightened the bolt slightly it seemed to get better, but it is still dripping. I do not really understand how oil could even get to this area?? I have attached pictures of where I am talking about. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

keep an eye on it
when it is quite wet, look for bubbles which would indicate a leaking head gasket

Head gasket did the trick! It didn't appear bad when removed, but ya never know what's sneaking by... I also added some high temp silicon thread sealer to the bolt as an added precaution...

Thanks for your help!
