Kohler Command 25 HP lawn mower engine

My John Deere Model Z720A with a Kohler Command 25HP engine will not charge a new battery just installed.

First make sure its not a bad battery, they do sell a lemon once in awhile. Have you tried putting the battery on a charger?

Use this manual to help you troubleshoot the charging system. If charging system checks out, as said you got a lemon battery.

The battery will hold a full charge for two mowings,approx.6 hours,and then when the battery is low,the mower and engine just shuts off.

It would last a real long time if you didn't have an electric pto. You will have to test your charging system and see
what is not working and replace the bad parts. The Kohler manual that Rivets put up a link for is pretty easy to follow.
