Hi Friends,
I have a new project, I bought a Toro Z Master zero turn, it has a Kohler 725cc engine with a blown head gasket and a bent push rod.
The mower has 2676 hours on it and has been treated a little rough but the inside of the engine is very clean and cylinder walls look fine.
My questions are to you guys that know small engines (I don't). Should I have the head surfaced, or do they even do that to small engines? What would cause it to bend a push rod. And what else should I do to this engine while I have it apart?
I know a lot about car engines but with small engines I am a rookie, any help and advice would be great. Thanks:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Shave the head? NO. Bent push rod, probably caused by valve clearance be too wide, rocker arm jumped. Post the model numbers and I'll find you a service manual.
How far have you torn it down and what do you feel comfortable doing. Take a look at the manual before answering. Remember, you are my eyes, describe things carefully.
