Kawasaki KAI FJ180v piston and rod swap

Got an FJ180v with a possible good piston and rod (need to check first) and one of my other mowers with an FJ180 is knocking real bad. How hard could it be to remove the piston and rod from one and put it on the other that is knocking? Both have been used. I am mostly uncertain about the clearances in between both engines (ring and cylinder wall).

The piston from the donor motor is still good. I am 99% sure. The reason Kawi replaced the engine is that it made this weird agressive ticking sound. Mechanic stripped the motor. Talked with 5 persons at Kawi sales rep. Kai abandoned and sent a nice new one.
