so im rebuilding this kohler,with new bearings,i drove in the pto side okay,but im having trouble with the bearing plate,do you all drive them in the bearing plate? or use a press? the original IH bearing crossed to a skf6308.thanks Ty

Fastest way to bugger the housing is to drive a bearing in cold.
Warm the housing in an oven or above a BBQ plate, even just leave it out in the sun.
pop the bearing into a sealed sandwich bag, pop it in the fridge or freezer for an hour or so the it will fall into the hot housing.
