JS26 will not restart when hot

Inherited a John Deere JS26 that would not start at all. Changed oil, spark plug, air filter and installed new carburetor, cleaned fuel tank and installed new fuel line, checked gap of coil to magneto flywheel and ensured the thermostat arm
is set properly in relation to the vane when engine is cold. The mower starts on the first pull and runs great. Once hot, the mower will not restart. Obviously the state of engine temperature (cold v.s hot)
is the trigger on whether the engine starts or not. Thoughts?

Assuming you've checked for spark, the thermostat arm may not be operating correctly when hot. These were problematic, even when the machines were still quite new. Replaced a lot of them under warranty back then.
