Hi All,
I saw a good deal on a 2011 John Deere Z710A mower but don't know much about them. Does anyone on here have experience with this mower? We drove it and it seems powerful and responsive but when engaging the PTO/blades, it really bogged down the engine. If the engine speed wasn't fairly high, it would kill it. But when the blades got going, it sounded like an airplane. Is this normal?
Thanks for any info.

Remeber starting the blades it will cosume a lot of power aspecialy if it is standing in the lawn yes you must remember all the systems that starts up can almost stall the engine.

Make sure that the blade brake is disengaging and that the blades turn freely.

Blade brake on a z710, if im not mistaken this unit has an electric pto so the bb is controlled electomagnetically in the pto electromagnetic clutch, so essentially the bbc shouldn't be a factor, if the unit isnt hitting on both cylinders it can really bog down until the engine catches up......the only way to tell if it is a "blade" problem would be to remove the belt from the pto clutch and see if the idlers and spindles are turning free...
