Hi,

Just worked on a JD Z425 with a no start, no fuel condition.

John Deere is using a fuel shut off solenoid on the bottom of the carb that is hard to see but is used in case of tip overs and as a safety for fuel shut off.

Anyway, if you have a no fuel condition and happen to notice the hour meter stops working, look to the fuse box.

The 7.5 amp fuse (brown) is the one that controls these two items.

The other two are 20 amp fuses (yellow) for main and starter circuits.

My 7.5 amp fuse was still good, BUT the corrosion on the metal spades was causing a no power situation. New fuse and away you go.

The fuse box is open so a little dielectric grease will help stop the corrosion.

Very easy to miss.

Have a great summer.

Brian
