Looking at buying a X585 with a 62" deck.
The machine has a broken hour meter so not sure of the hours although
the owner has service history from JD service center.
I ll be inspecting the machine tomorrow. Obvious things like fluids, belts, pullies etc
If anyone is familiar with this machine can they suggest other parts to check.

I am about to get rid of my John Deere Ztrak M535 because of hydrostatic drive issues. The dealership has been less than stellar in their service.

I would not recommend any JD mowers.

I did buy the x585 which was a couple of months ago.
No problems so far apart from usual wear items.
My wife loves mowing with it so Im out of a job.

Best of luck with whatever mower you decide on next.

Hydros are very expensive to repair and not usually done by dealers as the franchise wants you to relace the entire unit
This is a quick & easy fix fo them and puts the warranty on the hydro suppier
