I have a john deere lx 188 having rearend problems when going up hill the rear end quits pulling you can let off the pedal a little and it will finally pull on up the hill so I found used one and changed them out same problem as the original can any one shed some light on what my problem is thanks jeff p.s I have also put new drive belt on it
Is drive belt JD OEM part? Both idlers & and bearings good? Also make sure rear wheels are not stuck to axle shaft, if so clean up axles & apply anti seize compound to shaft. Check keys on axle shaft both sides. If all looks good, it's time for transaxle rebuild or new transaxle. You will need part/model number from original transaxle.
