I dropped the trans axle out of my john Deere l110 for some repairs. On reinstall, the drive belt seems way too long. I did not remove the belt, just slipped it up and off the pulley. I would sure appreciate any advice.

Check the rest of the belt path. Probably slipped off another pulley.
