John Deere, JA65, 6.5hp push mower

After several years of no use, my John Deere mower started up just fine. However the mower will not move forward in either of the two gears. Any suggestions of what this could be.

maybe a belt issue or linkage is binding up. look to see if there is movement when applying the drive function.
