Have a JD GX345 with 20hp water cooled Kaw. Will run 30 to 45 min then die then backfire through muffler. Sits for 10 min then starts right up. I've made sure vent in gas cap is clear. What's up?
We need to start diagnosing your problem
So the first thing to do is a 50:50 split to work out if your problem is electrical or fuel
So get a can of carb cleaner.
The instant the engine stops spray A TINY AMOUNT down the carb and see if the engine will fire.
If it does then you problem is with the fuel supply
Do that and get back for step 2
