I have a 314 I put a twin cylinder Kohler on. My question is I replaced the fuel line and the old line had a white coupler in it. Is that a residual valve or a filter. Because the fuel pump on the motor isn't getting gas. It has a round pump on the valve cover. I know on a cub that the pump is driven off the rocker arm. Is that how the round pump is driven?

I think the type fuel pump you are talking about is operated by vacuum/pressure change moving a diaphram.

Unhook you fuel line after the fuel pump and put it in a small container(may need a piece of temporary hose.
Take air compressor and gently blow in your fuel tank, use you hand and a rag to provide somewhat of a seal to prevent air from escaping and see if you can push some gas thru all the way to your container. Then hook back up and you are good to go...hopefully.
