Do all JD lawn tractors have kawasaki engines ?

No. Some have Briggs and Kohler engines depending on model.

The higher end models typically have Kawasaki engines, and the prices reflect that also.

I am not a big fan of the Kawasaki engine. They have sorriest valve train in the industry.

I am not a big fan fan of John Deere. Overpriced, overrated, parts are higher for OEM, and often more difficult to work on.

Kawasaki is a great engine, period. Make sure to adjust valves every 300 hours, and check cooling fins annually, or as needed, per recommendations from Kawasaki.
