I recently bought a new JD S140 to replace my old worn out Husqvarna. The JD seems to run quite good, but I would like to find a Parts breakdown and/or repair manual in case I need to do some future repairs. All I can find are manuals/downloads that charge a fee...some are ridiculously expensive. Does anyone know of a site where this data can be downloaded for free...like most manufacturers...or for just a few dollars.

Repair manuals for most JD unit will have to be purchased.

There is one site that provides its members free access but it is a professional site and you have enough posts to access the directory.

But is one site that has the TM166219 manual for $30 and if you can't afford that then you should not own a John Deere. These manuals from John Deere Direct are usually well over $100 but you do get CD disk that can fail. They are very detailed manuals. The one from the following site is a downloadable version.

You paid $2300 (current pricing) for this new mower and too cheap to buy the manuals? I'm confused.

This information was not "free" when they paid the people to develop it. This is not an old mower with lots of old manuals circulating around on Ebay.

I know that is fairly low priced with compared the $300 manual I got to order for a new JD ZTR with EFI. I got the Z970 but not the Z975. Awaiting on the manual number so I can get it.
