When replacing the idler pulley on a JD 48" mower deck, does the spacer go on the top or bottom of the pulley? I would appreciate input in this matter; I originally placed the spacer under the cover on the top but don't know if this is correct.:confused2:

Please post the model number of the tractor and deck.

Sorry for not including the following:
The JD tractor is a 325 and the 48" deck is: M0048D0040449 (from what I can read)
I believe this is a 1994 model year

This is not the same setup, close but mine is a little different; evidently the 325 had a slightly different deck.
