JD 345 Honda GSX 630 Engine Swap Hood Modification?

I swapped out the Kawasaki FDV590 water cooled for a new Honda GSX 630 air cooled. Everything runs like it should after some effort. However with the hood on, I am thinking air circulation may be too limited as the hood is a total enclosure configuration. There are vents on the sides of the hood the towards the top and through the front grill. I am thinking I should modify the sides by removing a good percentage of them. Any thoughts or suggestions?

With the front and side vents it will get plenty of cooling air. Air cooled engines actually draw in air at the top flywheel area and the fan forces that air across the top of the engine across the block and cylinder cooling fins.

You will have to make sure the cooling fins are cleaned once or twice every season.
