For the benefit of those who will follow in your foot steps
1) how long did it take start to finish ( excluding beer time )
2) How did you end up supporting the mower
3) on a 1-10 scale how hard was it to do

if you have all the parts needed, one full day on both items. one of the new pivot bushings i was trying to hammer in was being a butt yesterday. it finally busted all to pieces.
went to John Deere this morning and got another one. the second one slid in like a glove, with the help of a hammer.
the hardest part about the tilt steering repair was removing the steering wheel. after 22 years it wanted to be a pain. had to borrow a gear puller.
i supported the mower, after removing the deck and the electric PTO clutch, with a floor jack under the front bumper.
