My JD 180 lawn tractor is just too loud. This tractor has the Kawasaki 17 hp engine. Are there any after market mufflers that would reduce the noise?

Not being a smartass but why not use ear protection...probably a good idea in general. If it is so loud that ear protection doesn't help you might have a problem brewing in the mower.

I have heard that this one is good although I have never seen it.

I do, but it has been hard to convince my neighbors to wear theirs when I mow.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Anyone else out there tried this solution? I know that engine is used on a lot of different rigs.

Haha nice one! I thought it would be best to point out the obvious first because people are stupid enough not to use ear protection and then complain about noise...glad to know you have above average IQ.

Why not just replace it with a new stock one?
