put a new battery on a MTD rider mower MTD13AM675G062. had to charge it overnight and when I tried cranking it, the motor wouldn't:2cents::confused3::confused3: even spin. it just moved. looked the charger at its back down in the yellow. could the ignition switch be faulty causing it not to charge fully and draining the battery.?
Check all electrical connections by hand making sure they're tight & secure including engine ground straps & cables. See page 24 in operators manual, troubleshooting.
Most times a motor starts to crank but can not do a complete revolution you will have either a
hydraulic lock - fuel is in the cylinder and air and liquids can not be compresses
Valve lash is too big - automatic decompression is not working.
When you try to crank the engine the starter goes a small way then locks creating an almost dead short through the armature
