My dads Birthday is coming up and I am wanting to get him a good zero turn mower. I don't have a large budget, but found a deal on one used. I don't have any experience with this model, how has it worked for you? If anyone could tell me if this is a good deal I would really appreciate it, Thanks!
Here is the info I have on it
Zero turn 2010 John Deere Ez track $1300
John Deere 42" cut
" works perfect"
21hp engine
New gator mulching blades.

Here is a picture of it

I know a few on here will jump me for this. But yes this is a good deal for this mower.
A few things to look at.
Take the deck belt off and spin all the pulleys. Make sure the blades have no wobble or that the bearings make any noise.
If you ever do need spindle bearings cross the part number to any other brand. JD gets twice the price for the same bearing.

Look at the deck where the spindles bolts are. Make sure no cracks. Also look around the engine to frame bolts for cracks.

Look at everything but these are the known problems with this unit.

And to add to Cars list look closely at the welds that hold the deck hangers to the deck.
Some decks are welded when they are too cold at too high a current so have poor penetration.
I have to reweld quite a few.
I now have 5 EZ's in my service run and every customer is delighted with their mower.
You just have to be vigilant with the crack inspections.
