Is it possible to modify the Clip Director on HRR so that it acts like Versamow?

So I have a HRR216K9VKA (doesn't have Versamow obviously) and I was thinking I could modify the Clip Director housing so that the lever has a few notches in-between Bag and Mulch (like Versamow). I think I can just cut some notches in the plastic housing of the Clip Director so that the lever has some points to stop in between Bag and Mulch.

Anyone ever tried this? Seems like it would work.

I take it your machine is beyond warranty? It will be when you modify it. What's a Versamow?

Versamow technology is what the nice Honda HRX's have. It uses a version of the Clip Director but allows you to select many points in-between Bag and Mulch, so that you can dictate how much you bag.

And yes, I understand the warranty issue. I haven't made the mod yet, still contemplating the pros and cons.

Anyone else thought about or tried this?
