Hi, I have recently come into possession of a non-working snapper 21350p, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this ~1980 snapper mower. The pull start turns, so I know the engine is not seized, and I pulled it apart until I got down to a magneto starter that was not wired to anything. I don't know much about mowers or small engines, but I figured this was the place to come. I don't particularly need this mower, but wondered if someone could tell me if it is worth trying to fix. it has a 4hp b&s engine on board. Thanks in advance

Everything is worth fixing, depending on how much you want to spend and after repairs, what are you going to do with it.

I haven't really decided what to do with it if/when I fix it. I've seen some posts raving about the old snappers, and it might be nice to have a spare mower. I might sell it to someone who can appreciate it more or just to someone who's in need of a mower. Not really sure what the value of these old mowers are either

OK you lucky dog, you hit the holy grail of engines. That sucker has a cast iron bore. The MAX series of Briggs engines were made prior to the Quantum series. That should be a 190cc engine. If so, it will plow through tall grass with ease. It will make any Commercial GXV160 Honda or the like jealous. Hopefully it has not been ran out of oil in the past and doesn't smoke. Even if it smokes, it is still worth repairing. New piston and rings can be had for less than a nice meal. That is a Series 0 mower. KEEP THAT MOWER and get her going. Ask all the questions here you wish. We are here to help.

The mower model says it originally came with a 3.5hp engine. It shows a 4hp MAX I/C now. (y)

21350 means 21 inch deck, 3.5hp engine and series 0 mower.

Don't worry about it being on a 4hp engine. That sucker has the torque that reigns supreme.

Dude, that mower looks cherry. Been sunbathing a bit. Little rattle can made for plastic will dress her up ready for the prom. Tire tread looks fat too.

Make sure you check the 00 grade grease in the transmission. You can get a quart of 00 grease at Tractor Supply for like 5 bucks.

There is a kill switch where the carb mounts that grounds the magneto out to kill the engine.

Thanks for all the information. I'll have to keep you guys updated! Seemed like the engine was bulletproof and I look forward to showing it off in the future
