In the past I have purchased parts on Amazon especially carburetors and I never had a problem and I know many folks are not too thrilled with purchasing anything on Amazon well it seems there's certain specific parts that Amazon can't get right + I think it's a waste of time to purchase them on Amazon because they most likely will not work with your riding lawn mower engine. Here are three ignition coils I purchased on Amazon all within say a month of one another and all three of them are wrong what happens is when you mount the ignition coil say a brand new one and you are in front of the engine for my specific 19.5 horsepower Briggs& Stratton OHV engine spark plug wire should be on the left hand side. + All three of these if they're mounted correctly with the indicator this side out or it might say this side up puts that spark plug wire on the right hand side now I've studied within the last couple days how these are advertised and they do all kinds of tricks where they got the spark plug wire on the left hand side but the way they do that is they flip the photograph so out of say 100% of the ignition coils they're sold for my specific engine I'm guessing only maybe 3% are actually correct and this I don't know because I didn't buy one there. But I can say if you buy ignition coil on Amazon be very careful how they display the photograph it's even best to have the damaged one in your hand and you can rotate the ignition coil in your hand to match what they're displaying cuz they do all kinds of different things they'll rotate it In the same plane they'll flip, where normally I like to see the U just like the letter U But then they they turn the U upside down almost like M and they'll also flip it so that instead of this side up or out you'll end up reading cylinder side it's pretty unbelievable.
I took about 10 the ignition coils that Amazon said were a match for my 19.5 horsepower OHV Briggs& Stratton engine just that random and I looked at each one very closely and none of them were correct even though they look like they are correct and even though they said they would work with my engine.
So the photograph below is probably $60 worth of junk so to those who say get original parts or don't get stuff on the Amazon I would 100% agree especially if the part is in ignition coil but like I said I've had pretty good luck of carburetors, and other parts like pulleys for mower decks brand new blades just something that doesn't make sense why the ignition coils are pretty much all messed up and Amazon do it does not want to fix the problem .
The photograph below is not a trick I actually bought three of them and I just stacked them all up and basically the wire ends up on the right hand side which is not good.
