Every time I take my carburetor apart and re-install it my rider does something different!
If I have a backhoe I would bury the damn thing! Now it wants to backfire both ways.
(no flames) This LT 10 36 is not that difficult!

Well, it's been around a long time.
Before you pronounce it dead, buy a new carb and put it on there. Should be under a hundred bucks.......They don't make mowers like that any more.

I have looked for a new Carb. (631960A) There isn't a lot of them around.
I have not found any that are a match to mine. They seems to be for a snow blower!
That makes the choke assy. different. Still checking them out.
One more try on the old one. It is rebuilt, so I will triple check it.

Just what is wrong with the carburetor that it can't be repaired? Are you putting it together wrong or is it so dirty it you can't get it clean?
That would bring me to the next question, are you sure your problem is the carburetor?

I'm not 100% sure it is the carburetor. I have just started to play with these mowers. The LT 10 ran when I pickup it up.
It did not run well as the governor linkage only had the spring attached to the throttle cable linkage. There was no throttle
response, only the idle speed adjust set high. I purchased the correct parts with the help of this forum and It started the
first time I tried it, but would not stay running with fuel coming out the bottom of the bowl from a small hole. I purchased a
re-build kit and put almost all of the kit parts it. After that it ran very little with being very "rich" with fuel seeping from the
intake gasket at the block. Removed the carb. and replaced the needle set and adjusted float. now it just turns over and
huffs and buffs backfire etc.

It sounds to me like you have had a mess right from the start. If you are going to fix it yourself get yourself some help. Maybe
a service manual or some someone who know mower repairs. Maybe a repair shop. Just what is the mower, a project mower,
a mower you are going have to depend on, or something to resell? You are the one that will know what you want to spend before
you bury it. It sound like a mower you just picked up so what else will go wrong after you get it running?

I drove it onto the trailer! Had a bad fuel leak. This forum is my Help. I have stored a 1970 Camero that included doing the motor myself.
I have the operation manual, but not the service. It is a project mower to sell then I get it running to pay for the other (LT 11 36). The LT 10
has the mower deck, the LT 11 does not. I want the LT 11 for my garden as a hauler. Shops around here are $60 - $70 an hour and I don't trust
any of them. (Bad reviews)
